The Germain L’Affiné Au Chablis is a cow’s milk, wash rind cheese. The wash is with Chablis wine, which turns the cheese slightly orange as it ripens. The cheese takes on the distinctive taste of the Chablis wine. Ideal on a cheeseboard or in salads, it has a high melting point, so is great on fresh, sliced bread.
Its characteristics
A true regional speciality, l'Affiné au Chablis Germain cheese is made from cow’s milk. Its lightly gold-tinged rind reveals a meltingly soft and creamy centre. It gets its flavour and characteristic colour to its wash with Chablis wine. Its flavour is mild with a fresh, floral and fruity aroma.
